There are a lot of things I miss since I moved to the west coast and Preshys is in the top 5. Yes, the service is brusque, but I found that to be part of its charm. Amazing food at unbeatable prices. Loosen up folks. A little character adds spice to life!
Enjoy the food and relax! If you come here thinking you can boss the boss, you will be disappointed. Do come to linger over good northern Italian cooking and great prices for beer and wine. Reservations are appreciated even if you are calling from the parking lot. P.S. We went last night, after I posted the above review, and Roberto has mellowed! Just smiles and says "Good. I think i miss the old Roberto!
Preshy's is a Rehoboth happening. We all want to be pampered when we go to a restaurant. You will be at Preshy's but by the wonderful Italian food (Lasagna to die for, when they have it) and home made rustic hot bread, not by any pretensions of its owner. Service will be quick but sometimes brusque. If you don't want to come back because you didn't like way the owner told you he has no lemons or limes and he has only one kind of run-of-the mill vodka and gin, don't. He and his wife-chef are there to provide you good food at the best prices and their hard work achieves those objectives. If you want high priced drinks and can't appreciate the matter-of-fact humanity and good faith of the owner -- so be it.
Very good food great prices
Although driving by this place for years, we never ventured in until we heard about the review controversy. I don't like to pass judgement on a restaurant with just one visit , but I can say now after having been there 4 times , we have had consistently delicious and well-prepared food, and pleasant helpful service.
The wine is pleasantly passable, and very cheap, the salad small but fresh and all you need, and the desserts passed my sweet tooth test. With an average bill of $35 for two, Preshy's is quickly becoming a weekly spot for us.
This is more of a little, local, Neighborhood Place - - and with that goes a few usual idiosyncrasies. The owner Roberto is gracious and welcoming, but has a certain way of doing things. If you are NOT one of those picky restaurant patrons, who always has to make substitutions, order dressing on the side, or just be generally a PIA, then you will have a wonderful meal. I always say, don't go in a place with a frown on your face. Be the customer that you would want to have come to your business, and you will always fare well.
Roberto's prices are incredibly reasonable, and you get excellent value for your money. Everything coming out of the kitchen is the real deal, made from scratch. If you're lucky enough to be offered one of the specials, like the gnocchi (luscious, creamy pillows from heaven) or the meaty, but oh-so-tender slow cooked lamb shank, with its delectable sauce, don't pass on the opportunity.
