And years ago, at another Cracker Barrel, I proposed to my wife. Shh! It may have been our third time proposing.
We decided to try Cracker Barrel for lunch. While seated at our table and eating, an employee decided to sweep the floor. Dust was was stirred-up all around us from her sweeping. She was fully aware of it and was clearly indifferent to it. Our waitress couldn't slap the bill fast enough onto the table after serving our food, without considering that we may want to order something additional. Nothing "Homey" about Cracker Barrel from what we saw. We were not impressed.
I absolutely love Cracker Barrel to begin with, but this location is the one we visit whenever we're in Rehoboth Beach. We always have a great meal there and usually we also have a wonderful server! Of course, once in a while, you get one that just doesn't have the best "grooming"(?), which can occur anywhere. That has only happened one time in all of our visits at this location!! They must really screen potential employees
& make sure that they fit in. They have great diversity in age, race, "preference" and any other importance in their employees. It's a wonderful place to visit, eat, shop and meet new friends!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!
I would have give a 5 out of 5, but my food arrived late after everyone else's. It was taken off the bill. Still, as always, it tasted great!
And while waiting for a table, or after your meal, browse and go in the old-time store. Almost straight from The Homecoming and The Walton's.
We waited for 15 minutes before a server came over to take our order. It wasn't busy at all so we found this unacceptable & were about to leave. The waitress that came over to us wasn't even the waitress assigned to our section. Her name was Ebony & she took care of us with the utmost professionalism & efficiency. We were actually in Meghan's section. She wasn't busy, but she found time to wait on another table (customer who came in way after us).
Eating at Cracker Barrel is like having a home cooked meal with someone else doing the cooking. Simple and not complicated. Delicious.
The atmospheres good, the people are always friendly, the service is great and the food is delicious and last but certainly not least... you can't beat the prices ! It's the only place in town you can get a sit down home-cooked meal for a fast food price ! :)
